Sustainable Capacity Building for Universal Health Coverage - UHC

Why UHC is vital to fight extreme poverty? It is estimated that half the world still lacks access to essential health services, and that’s why today Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is so important. The concept of universal health coverage is quite simple – that people can easily access the health services they need, without suffering financial hardship when paying for them to secure poor from crossing the poverty line.

Many countries have adopted UHC (Universal Health Coverage) for their population totally or partially to provide proportionately free or paid healthcare facilities for their children to learn, adults to earn, and old age to live meaningful lives. The developed and developing countries are progressing towards achieving these targets by 2030 in various health sectors such as health promotion, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care equally and trying their best to take off the burden of treatment costs from pockets and small savings of people not to cross the poverty line by the families. Pakistan is also one of the country who has adopted since 2016 first as Social Health Protection Initiative and then diverted it to UHC and spread it across the country.

Business leaders believe that first create or produce a product as per standard or improve the quality of already created product, set effective distribution channels, then advertise or promote it. This is a simple business rule; otherwise, good results of more effective product promotion cannot be achieved. When customers of a promotion campaign go to purchase a product that has not been created, launched in the market properly, or mismatched with the sample already advertised or promoted will disappoint them, and the organization will not achieve its targets/goals relating to sales. Therefore, one can conclude that the achievement of promotion targets depends upon the satisfaction of target customers, i.e. the situation that customers can get that product well in time in the market according to that standard of quality which has already been advertised or promoted by an organization. The same is the case for the adoption of Universal Health Coverage. A country must first comply with the fulfillment of Universal Health coverage prerequisites.
